Safe-Point identified the risk of ‘needle stick’ injuries within Dental care. By using an automated device to remove the needle, this would dramatically reduce the risk of needle injuries and associated risk from cross infection. The electro-mechanical device would need to cope with numerous needle styles, but reliably dispose of each needle into a safe container. By approaching Wright Design, Safe-Point was able to take the idea into reality.

Wright Design was able to assist with all aspects of the product development. At the initial stages Wright Design assisted with the generation of the technical and functional specifications. Within the core skills of mechanical and industrial design, concepts and prototypes were produced, also working closely with other design services, such as electronic and software design. Beyond the design, Wright Design project managed the development, selected suppliers and manufacturers.
